Freelance translator in Leipzig since 2006
Academic Background
In September 2006, I graduated from the University of Leipzig with a translation degree in English and Spanish. My coursework included classes on the translation of commercial correspondence, contracts and business texts. I further specialized in the subject areas of civil engineering and law.
International studies and work experience
In order to develop my language skills and deepen my cultural knowledge, I spent a semester abroad at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and successfully completed various courses at the Malvern House language school in London after concluding my prerequisite courses. Additionally, I was able to gain three years of early practical experience working as an editor for a translation firm in Leipzig during my years as a student.
Freelance work
Since October 2006, I have been working as a freelance translator in Leipzig. I have been publicly appointed and sworn in by the Higher Regional Court of Dresden (Oberlandesgericht Dresden) for the languages English and Spanish and I am a member of the German Association of Translators and Interpreters (BDÜ). My work with direct customers in industry and economy, as well as with language service providers and private customers in Germany and abroad has equipped me with extensive experience in a multitude of subject areas.
